An Introduction to Letterpress Printing
An Introduction to Bookbinding
In collaboration with the Association pour le Patrimoine Industriel (API)
1. An Introduction to Letterpress Printing
This workshop offers a hands-on introduction to typography and traditional printing techniques. Through explanations and demonstrations, participants will learn how a vintage press works and the steps involved in a print run, before trying their hand at inking and printing a composition set in lead type on a small press.
2. An Introduction to Bookbinding
Participants will explore three fundamental bookbinding techniques: closed-stitch binding, accordion folding, and Japanese-style binding. This introductory course is ideal for anyone interested in learning the basics of bookbinding.

1. Découverte de l’impression typographique
Cet atelier propose une introduction vivante à la typographie et aux techniques d’impression artisanale. À travers des explications et des démonstrations, les participant·es découvrent le fonctionnement d’une presse ancienne et les étapes d’un tirage, avant d’expérimenter l’encrage et l’impression d’une composition en caractères de plomb sur une petite presse.
2. Introduction à la reliure
Les participant·es découvriront trois structures fondamentales de la reliure : la reliure à points fermés, le pliage en accordéon et la reliure japonaise. Ce cours d’initiation est idéal pour toute personne qui souhaite découvrir les bases de la reliure.
