Heilige, Heilige und Pflege im Hospice Saint-Roch

Im Herzen des ehemaligen Hospizes von Issoudun zeugen die Sammlungen des Museums von der engen Verbindung zwischen Kunst, Glaube und Fürsorge. Vom 16. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert begleiteten die Figuren des heiligen Roch, der gegen die Pest gebetet wurde, des hl. Sebastian, der als Märtyrer und Fürsprecher bei Epidemien auftrat, oder der hl. Katharina, ein Symbol für Weisheit und geistliche Heilung, die Kranken und Pfleger. Durch Skulpturen, Gemälde und Bruderschaftstangen erkunden diese Führungen, wie die Heiligen Hoffnung, Schutz und Trost in der Welt des Krankenhauses verkörperten. Eine sensible Durchquerung der Spiritualität im Zusammenhang mit der karitativen Mission des Hospizes.

At the heart of the former hospice of Issoudun, the museum’s collections testify to the close link between art, faith and care. From the 16th to the 20th century, the figures of Saint Roch, invoked against the plague, of Saint Sebastian, martyr and intercessor in the face of epidemics, or of Saint Catherine, symbol of wisdom and spiritual healing, accompanied the sick and caregivers. Through sculptures, paintings and brotherhood sticks, these guided tours explore how saints embodied hope, protection and comfort within the hospitable universe. A sensitive journey through spirituality in connection with the hospice’s charitable mission.

Nel cuore dell'ex ospizio di Issoudun, le collezioni del museo testimoniano lo stretto legame tra arte, fede e cura. Dal XVI al XX secolo, le figure di san Rocco, invocato contro la peste, di san Sebastiano, martire e intercessore davanti alle epidemie, o ancora di santa Caterina, simbolo di saggezza e di guarigione spirituale, accompagnavano i malati e gli operatori sanitari. Attraverso sculture, dipinti e bastoni di confraternita, queste visite guidate esplorano come i santi e le sante incarnavano speranza, protezione e conforto all'interno dell'universo ospedaliero. Un percorso sensibile della spiritualità in relazione alla missione caritatevole dell'ospizio.

Au cœur de l’ancien hospice d’Issoudun, les collections du musée témoignent du lien étroit entre art, foi et soin. Du XVIe au XXe siècle, les figures de saint Roch, invoqué contre la peste, de saint Sébastien, martyr et intercesseur face aux épidémies, ou encore de sainte Catherine, symbole de sagesse et de guérison spirituelle, accompagnaient les malades et les soignants. À travers sculptures, peintures et bâtons de confrérie, ces visites guidées explorent comment les saints et les saintes incarnaient espoir, protection et réconfort au sein de l’univers hospitalier. Une traversée sensible de la spiritualité en lien avec la mission charitable de l’hospice.

En el corazón del antiguo hospicio de Issoudun, las colecciones del museo testimonian la estrecha relación entre arte, fe y cuidado. Del siglo XVI al XX, las figuras de san Roque, invocado contra la peste, de san Sebastián, mártir e intercesor ante las epidemias, o de santa Catalina, símbolo de sabiduría y curación espiritual, acompañaban a los enfermos y a los cuidadores. A través de esculturas, pinturas y palos de hermandad, estas visitas guiadas exploran cómo los santos y santas encarnaban la esperanza, la protección y el consuelo en el universo hospitalario. Un recorrido sensible de la espiritualidad en relación con la misión caritativa del hospicio.
