Die im 11. Jahrhundert erbaute Kapelle wurde zahlreichen Renovierungsarbeiten unterzogen, darunter eine Restaurierung im 18. Jahrhundert. Die Terrasse und die Stützmauer wurden im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert erbaut. Sie wurde auf einem Vorgebirge errichtet, das die Ebene überragt und somit ein identitätsstiftendes Wahrzeichen ist. Das Denkmal ist repräsentativ für die romanische Kunst.
Die hervorragende Akustik macht es zu einem beliebten Veranstaltungsort für Konzerte.
