Tabak ist eine Begegnung zwischen Jazzklavier und traditioneller irischer Musik. Die drei Musiker bieten eine ganz eigene Welt, die es ihren jeweiligen musikalischen Identitäten ermöglicht, miteinander zu kommunizieren.
Seit 2004 übt Damien Groleau seinen Beruf als Bühnen- und Studiomusiker aus, wobei er eine Reihe sehr persönlicher künstlerischer Projekte, von Begegnungen und fruchtbarem Teilen verfolgt. Er veröffentlichte sechs eigene Kompositionsalben und etwa 15 als Sideman. Er eignet sich auch als Pianist, Interpret, Flötist und Komponist für verschiedene Kooperationen im Theater (Cie Bacchus, Cie Keishad, die nationale Bühne mit dem CDN und das Raumtheater), bei internationalen Tanzaufführungen (Difékako) und im Kino. (mit Coline Serreau und Charles Gassot, Valérie Donzelli...), oder auch für Dokumentarfilme (Produktionen von France 3 national und des Senders LCP).
Die musikalischen Kooperationen führten ihn auch ins Ausland: nach Brasilien (Naomi Kumamoto, Zé Barbeiro), in den Maghreb, nach Tunesien, um Amour Brahem beim Schreiben von "Souvenance" zu unterstützen, das 2017 bei ECM erschien, zur Eröffnung des Festivals von Karthago mit Difé Kako. oder auch am Institut français d'Alger für mehrere Jazzkonzerte. In die USA, wo er als Musikkorrespondent zwischen den Partnerstädten Charlottesville und Besançon zu einer Konzertreihe mit John D'Earth an der University of Virginia eingeladen wird. Mit der Sängerin Paulien, Royce Campbell, Chris Dammann und David Drubin nehmen sie ein "Live"-Album auf, das heute auf Platz 281 von 500 der am meisten im Radio in den USA ausgestrahlten Jazzalben steht!

Vince is a meeting between jazz piano and traditional Irish music. The three musicians propose a universe of their own, which allows their respective musical identities to converse with complicity.
Since 2004, Damien Groleau has been practicing his profession as a stage and studio musician, tracing a path made of very personal artistic projects, encounters and fruitful sharing. He has released six albums of compositions under his name, and about fifteen as a sideman. He also lends himself, as a pianist performer, flutist and composer, to various collaborations for the theater (Cie Bacchus, Cie Keishad, the national stage with the CDN and the space theatre), dance shows internationally (Difékako), cinema (with Coline Serreau and Charles Gassot, Valérie Donzelli...), or for documentaries (productions of France 3 national and the channel LCP).
Musical collaborations have also taken him overseas: to Brazil (Naomi Kumamoto, Zé Barbeiro), the Maghreb, Tunisia to assist Amour Brahem in writing 'Souvenance', published by ECM in 2017, for the opening of the Carthage festival with Difé Kako, or at the French Institute of Algiers for several jazz concerts. In the United States where, as a music correspondent between Charlottesville and Besançon, twin cities, he is invited for a series of concerts with John D'Earth at the University of Virginia. With the singer Paulien, Royce Campbell, Chris Dammann and David Drubin, they record an album "Live" which is today 281st in the charts on 500 of the most played jazz albums on radio in the United States!

Tabak è un incontro tra il pianoforte jazz e la musica tradizionale irlandese. I tre musicisti propongono un universo tutto loro, che permette alle rispettive identità musicali di dialogare con complicità.
Dal 2004, Damien Groleau esercita la sua professione di musicista di scena e di studio, tracciando un percorso fatto di progetti artistici molto personali, di incontri e di condivisioni fruttuose. Ha pubblicato sei album di composizioni a suo nome, e una quindicina come sideman. Si presta anche, come pianista interprete, flautista e compositore, a diverse collaborazioni per il teatro (Cie Bacchus, Cie Keishad, la scena nazionale con il CDN e lo Space Theatre), spettacoli di danza internazionali (Difékako), cinema (con Coline Serreau e Charles Gassot, Valérie Donzelli...), o ancora per documentari (produzioni di France 3 nazionale e del canale LCP).
Le collaborazioni musicali lo hanno portato anche all'estero: in Brasile (Naomi Kumamoto, Zé Barbeiro), nel Maghreb, in Tunisia per aiutare Amour Brahem a scrivere "Souvenance", pubblicato da ECM nel 2017, per l'apertura del festival di Cartagine con Difé Kako, o ancora all'Institut français d'Algeri per diversi concerti di jazz. Negli Stati Uniti dove, in qualità di corrispondente musicale tra Charlottesville e Besançon, città gemellate, è invitato per una serie di concerti con John D'Earth all'Università della Virginia. Con la cantante Paulien, Royce Campbell, Chris Dammann e David Drubin, registrano un album "Live" che è oggi 281o nelle classifiche su 500 degli album jazz più diffusi in radio negli Stati Uniti!
