Bringing the monster out of its obscure lair, putting it in the spotlight, erecting it as an icon of queer culture: this is the challenge set by the Gonzalez-Cardellini-Balestra trio, known as the White Wolf for their transdisciplinary shows that are both visual and performative. By using the codes of gore to pinpoint where the real horror lies, and by embracing the marginal position that good society assigns to those who live outside the sexual norm, the performers abolish the punishment of the monster. A monstrously beautiful theatrical ode to redrawing the fluid boundaries between human and inhuman, normal and strange, nature and culture.

Faire sortir le monstre de son antre obscur, le mettre sous les feux de la rampe, l’ériger en icône de la culture queer, voici le défi que se lance le trio Gonzalez-Cardellini-Balestra, connu comme le loup blanc pour ses spectacles transdisciplinaires, à la fois visuels et performatifs. En utilisant les codes du gore pour mieux cerner où se situe la véritable horreur et en épousant la position marginale que toute bonne société assigne à celles et ceux qui vivent hors de la norme sexuelle, les interprètes abolissent la peine du monstre. Une ode théâtrale monstrueusement belle pour redessiner des frontières fluides entre humain et inhumain, normal et étrange, nature et culture.
