In this "Rendezvous for Reflection and Action", we look at the issue of care and repair. All over the world, the cultures and practices of indigenous peoples manage their environment through an ethic of care and a culture of reparation. As such, they contribute to the achievement of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Based on the objects on display and the photographs taken by Johnathan Watts in the exhibition "Environmental Injustice - Indigenous Alternatives" we will try to look at broken, injured or repaired objects in a different way. We will talk about the links between humans and objects, and more particularly about the objects in the collections which are evidence of the care they were given before entering the museum. Finally, we will look at how we can take a fresh look at the objects that surround us and how we can put into practice in our daily lives an ethic of care and repair that allows us to act sustainably for the preservation of the environment.
This discussion will take place with Johnathan Watts - photographer, Lucie Monot - conservator and Julien Reinhard - project manager at Agenda 21 the City of Geneva.
This event takes place on the first Sunday of the month and is therefore free of charge and requires no prior registration.

Lors de ce «Rendez-vous pour réfléchir et agir», nous nous penchons sur la question du soin et de la réparation. Partout dans le monde des peuples autochtones gèrent leur environnement à travers une éthique du soin et une culture de la réparation. C’est à ce titre qu’ils contribuent à la réalisation de l’Agenda 2030 des Nations unies pour le développement durable.
En partant des objets exposés et des photographies réalisées par Johnathan Watts dans l’exposition « Injustice environnementale – alternatives autochtones » cette rencontre vous invite ensemble à considérer autrement les objets cassés, blessés ou réparés. Nous discuterons des liens entre humains et objets et plus particulièrement des objets de collections qui sont des témoignages du soin qui leur a été porté avant d'entrer au musée. Nous verrons enfin comment porter un regard nouveau sur les objets qui nous entourent et comment mettre en pratique au quotidien une éthique du soin et de la réparation qui nous permette d’agir durablement pour la préservation de l’environnement.
Cette discussion aura lieu avec Johnathan Watts - photographe, Lucie Monot – conservatrice, restauratrice et Julien Reinhard – chargé de projet Agenda 21 à la Ville de Genève.
Cet événement se déroule dans le cadre du premier dimanche du mois, il est donc gratuit et sans inscription au préalable.
