Mohamed Lamouri sings the sentimental raï: a Parisian from Algeria, he has been performing in the metro since the early 2000s.
Authentic character of Belleville and the greater Paris, he sings much more than he speaks and his story is long to tell: blind autonomous, long clandestine, hard life and unwavering optimism, always keyboard on shoulder. His voice, hoarse and tense, is patinated to excess, magnificent. He develops his melodies in the subway and refines them to the test of this constantly renewed urban public. His first album, Underground Raï Love (2019), had hit the mark with its songs at the confluence of 80’s raï and Western pop. In 2023, Mohamed Lamouri released a second album, Méhari, with the musicians of Cheb: Baron Rétif (bass), Charlie 0. (keyboards), Mocke (saz, guitar), where Lamouri sings to the bongos his heart and his destiny, not to mention his raï nuggets from Rachid and Fethi, Boutaïba Sghir, Cheb Hasni...

Mohamed Lamouri canta il raï sentimentale: parigino d'Algeria, si esibisce nella metropolitana dall'inizio degli anni 2000.
Autentico personaggio di Belleville e della grande Parigi, canta molto più di quanto parli e la sua storia è lunga da raccontare: malvedente autonomo, a lungo clandestino, la vita dura e l'ottimismo senza sosta, sempre la tastiera alla spalla. La sua voce, rauca e tesa, è patina in eccesso, bellissima. Elabora le sue melodie nella metropolitana e le affina alla prova di questo pubblico urbano sempre rinnovato. Il suo album di debutto, Underground Raï Love (2019), aveva fatto scalpore con i suoi brani alla confluenza del raï degli anni '80 e della pop occidentale. Nel 2023, Mohamed Lamouri pubblica un secondo album, Méhari, con i musicisti del Cheb: Baron Rétif (percs), Charlie 0. Auténtico personaje de Belleville y del gran París, canta mucho más de lo que habla y su historia es larga para contar: daltoneo autónomo, durante mucho tiempo clandestino, la vida dura y el optimismo sin fisuras, siempre con el teclado al hombro. Su voz, ronca y tensa, está demasiado rígida, magnífica. Elabora sus melodías en el metro y las refina a la prueba de este público urbano siempre renovado. Su primer álbum, Underground Raï Love (2019), había hecho furor con sus canciones en la confluencia del RAI de los 80 y el pop occidental.
