Guided tour of the Ariel cinema

Built in the mid-1960s, the Ariel officially opened its doors on November 15, 1968. With a unique room, this neighborhood cinema has a stage intended to host animations in the first part of the evening. But with the advent of the small screen in homes and the appearance of cinema complexes, the Ariel closed its doors in 1977. At the beginning of 1978, the City bought it and it opened its doors again to spectators in the fall. Four years later, the Ariel is classified Art & Essai, a ranking that promotes quality independent cinema and programming diversity. To date, only the Ariel and the Omnia Republic of Rouen are classified Art & Essai in the metropolis. From 10:30 am to 1 pm, several visits will be offered by the passionate and exciting projectionists of this mythical cinema.
