The Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences 20th anniversary
The institutional event will take place on July 7, 2026 at the Diapason in Rennes

This event provides an opportunity to highlight the progress achieved since the founding of the ISCR, while also reflecting on the many developments that have shaped chemistry in Rennes over the years.
Originally established as 'Sciences Chimiques de Rennes' on January 1, 2006, this joint research unit (UMR) adopted the name 'Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes' (ISCR) in 2012. It brings together the full range of academic chemistry research activities in Rennes.
Following successive changes in its internal organization over the past two decades, the Rennes Institute of Chemical Sciences (ISCR) is now structured into eight research teams and two administrative, scientific, and technical support departments. This organization enables the Institute to combine the scientific strengths of a large multidisciplinary structure with professional management supportive of everyone.
The ISCR pursues ambitious, world-class research in its core areas of expertise: the design, synthesis, characterization, and modeling of functional molecules and materials. Its research spans a broad range of application fields, including health and well-being, sustainable chemistry and processes, the environment, energy, optics and photonics, and molecular and hybrid materials.
At the same time, the Institute is committed to reducing its environmental footprint through initiatives such as equipment reuse, responsible travel practices, and other measures aimed at promoting sustainability.
The event will take place at the Diapason on Beaulieu Campus in Rennes on July 7, 2026.
