The conferences will take place at the Odyssélec space on Saturday at 5pm and on Sunday at 11am.
The development of the Chastang dam is the most important, the most downstream and the last project on the Dordogne. Built between 1946 and 1951, it is part of a global project to develop the Dordogne. At that time, it formed with the Argentat compensation dam the last significant link in the hydroelectric development of the high and middle Dordogne.
At the conference, Agnès BRAHIM-GIRY will review the history of the construction of this dam, an industrial symbol that marked the history of dams in Corrèze thanks to the technical challenges met.
