The Treasures of Margarita
The Lycée Marguerite de Valois offers a series of animations organized and commented by the students of the Art sections of the establishment: visits, walks, exhibition, show… From 9:30 to 4:00!
From the history of the Bel Air district, where a school city was built on the site of a former plague hospital, only La Chapelle survived from the 17th century. Since the 1960s, the architecture of the buildings has made it a beacon example in Angoulême of the precepts of Le Corbusier. The Lycée houses several remarkable works of art acquired through the 1% artistic. Mosaics and in-situ sculptures have been enriched in recent years by a new approach of acquisitions with contemporary artists: a fresco by Fred Le Chevalier, an installation by Sarah Garzoni, a photographic diptych by Régis Feugère.
Finally, to mark the 60th anniversary of its construction, the school commissioned 60 photographs from three professional photographers, former students.
At the entrance of the administrative building, a cabinet of curiosities combines student achievements and fragments of the collections of the SVT department. Mirabilis: media library, technical sets of fashion and leather goods, amphitheatre.
