Discovery and visit of the garden of the manor of Kermain
Discover the garden of the 5 senses of the manor of Kermain Of all times, the design of a garden was guided by the 5 senses. If the nurturing aspect was predominant, the care of body and mind were quickly at the heart of concerns. On the theme of the senses, 5 planters will be developed and a planted space dedicated to the Middle Ages.
The exhibition in the chapel of the manor will retrace a history of the gardens through images, prints, school posters and objects.
From the mythical Garden of Eden to the patron saint of gardeners, from the initiator of the workers' gardens, Abbé Lemire, to the gardens of priests and monastics, the various iconographic elements, from the 19th and 20th centuries, will show the gaze and the evolutions of the gardens over time. These educational posters from the 50s to 70s will show the image of a productive and family garden.
You will find postcards and old photos, with nearby gardens: garden of the presbytery of Ploërdut, Abbey of Langonnet, the orphanage and vocational school of Saint Michel en Priziac. Among the old tools, mystery tools will be presented, for you to guess their usefulness! The winners will be rewarded!
