Le jardin d'Hildegarde de l'Abbaye de la Crête
52700 Bourdons-sur-Rognon
The "Crete" is a former abbey founded in 1121, second daughter of the Cistercian abbey of Morimond, granddaughter of Cîteaux. The abbey had to be completely rebuilt at the beginning of the 18th century. It therefore underwent important architectural changes. After the Revolution, the church and the cloister were destroyed. The porterie (1715-1730) is in itself a characteristic building of the eighteenth century and highlights the charm and serenity of the site, purely Cistercian. It has deteriorated considerably over the past 50 years and is the subject of safeguard work. A rest area has recently been set up for the walker. The pretty bridge over the Rognon, facing the gate, is from the eighteenth century (the gate and the bridge are classified as Historical Monuments).
The Garden of Hildegard is located towards the clearing, at the rear of the abbey.
