The Museum of the Land of Hanau, located in Bouxwiller, takes place in a remarkably renovated architectural complex, listed as Historical Monuments. The 16th-century wheat market and the former 14th-century castral chapel serve as the setting for this Museum of France, a veritable tool for interpreting a territory with multiple heritages. The spaces punctuated by the imposing frame create original atmospheres, adapted to different themes. Through a subtle and modern museum, you will discover the history, culture and natural environment of this endearing territory of Hanau. The town of Bouxwiller, the former capital of the county of Hanau-Lichtenberg, then residence of the princes of Hesse-Darmstadt, has preserved many witnesses of its exceptional past.
