Peyraux is built in a wooded valley, halfway down the hill of Poujoulou that dominates the surroundings, in a site inscribed since 1984\. The castle (15th-18th centuries) has been listed as a historical monument since 1948, the commons since 1974\. The choice of his situation probably corresponds to the proximity of many sources. The visitor first discovers, after having passed the entrance porch of the castle, the main terrace, furnished with lindens cut in curtains, boxwood cut in topiary, charmilles and pyramidal charms. To the east, under the hill, the footbath makes a junction between the commons and the castle. At the height of the castle, one enters a boxwood garden, at the foot of a tower abandoned since the seventeenth century, then one enters on a second terrace, in a space framed by walls, punctuated with charms, yews, laurels of Portugal, boxwood cut in topiary, plane mulberry and mixed border.
