Caroline Guth, passionate about nature, resolutely turned towards plants and their benefits and specialist in phyto-aromatherapy, offers 2 guided tours to discover the flowery meadow of the Dominican library. Composed of annual, biennial and perennial flowers that are adapted to the soil and climate of the region (poppies, blueberries, daisies, etc.), they bloom from spring to fall. This meadow is a nice alternative to grass and has many advantages. It is a source of biodiversity and contributes to the conservation of places of life and refuge for small wildlife such as birds, bats, butterflies and other pollinators. It is also oriented towards eco-gardening. It requires few interventions (usually a single mowing at the end of the year to allow the plants to seed and thus to reseal themselves) and does not require watering. This makes it a good response to climate change.

Recently reopened to the public after four years of work, the restored Dominican convent, place of conservation of the historical collections of Colmar, is an exceptional site for exceptional collections.
It is in this listed monument that the city library has been installed since 1951\. The gallery of the cloister, rebuilt in the middle of the 15th century, serves as a setting for one of the most beautiful ancient collections. In 2012, the departure of public reading collections to the Media Cluster-Culture Edmond Gerrer allows the Library to focus on its functions of conservation and enhancement of the Colmar collections and gives it the vocation to become a first-rate heritage library.
The Library houses considerable collections, including 1,217 manuscripts, a third of which date back to the Middle Ages, 2,300 incunabula (mainly editions from German workshops, which constitute the largest collection of this type of work in France after Paris), 50,000 books printed between the 16th a
