The public garden of Cambrai establishes(constitutes) a remarkable set(group) of about 4 hectares situated in full city center. He(it) is established(constituted) by three spaces. The garden in flowers and the garden Monstrelet are conceived(designed) at the beginning of 1860s by the architect-landscape painter Jean-Pierre Barillet-Deschamps, also the designer of the gardens of Lille or Roubaix. He(it) conceives(designs) unique(only) paintings(charts), where the nature is put e stage(scene) thanks to undulations and to choice(selection) of plantations. A kiosk(pavilion) realized in 1867 decorates the centre of these spaces. Numerous sculptures allow a discovery of local artists of the second half of the XIXth century. Between 1900 and 1930, the garden of caves is fitted out on a part(party) of the old(former) dismantled citadel. He(it) holds his(its) name of a concrete(watertight) majestic rock pierrée, restored in 2012\. Finally, public games(sets), dating 1890s and restored in 2013, allow a playful discovery of the garden.
