About the location

Jardin de Gaston
Chemin des Longes, 26120 Montmeyran
  • Drôme
  • Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
Operated for more than 20 years by a gardener, Gaston, who was no longer able to continue, the site was bought by the municipality of Montmeyran in May 2021.
The vegetable garden and fruit trees have found a new generation thanks to the association of the "Jardins partagés de Montmeyran" which meets there to make a collective garden and organize demonstrations. The association promotes meetings in this privileged place to develop intergenerational ties, openness to others and citizen exchanges. An eco-responsible, ecological and democratic experimentation area, the garden contributes to the maintenance of biodiversity and the dissemination of knowledge, knowledge and know-how.
The site lends itself very well to environmental education activities.
Open to all, it is a very pleasant place as a walking area and freshness in summer.
It is also an ornamental garden with traces of roses, peonies, daylilies, clematis, camomile, periwinkles…
