Pavillon d'Artois

The Pavillon d'Artois in Vaux sur Seine dates from the 17th century, Hyacinthe Rigaud, painter of Louis XIV, lives there from 1700 to 1715, then the future Count of Artois Charles X ordered magnificent embellishments in the Palladian neo-style and the transformation of the French garden into an English style park with an exceptional rock cave attributed to the landscape architect of Marie-Antoinette, Richard Mique. Everything contributes to make this place a scenery of a painting of Watteau, between dream and game, fantasy and party, on the banks of the Seine on more than 3ha.
