Three composers, three perspectives across more than a century of music: reinventing musical heritage into a deeply personal artistic voice. With Pablo Heras-Casado conducting the OSR and Patricia Kopatchinskaja on violin, this programme explores the dialogue between tradition and modernity, where each score reimagines past forms with striking ingenuity.
Inspired by 18th-century music, Stravinsky’s Pulcinella suite opens with wit and elegance. Shostakovich then presents his Violin Concerto N° 2, marked by a profoundly introspective intensity. Finally, Brahms’s Symphony N° 4 stands as a pinnacle of German Romanticism, drawing inspiration from Bach, most notably in its concluding passacaglia.

Trois compositeurs, trois regards sur plus d’un siècle musical : transformer l’héritage en en une œuvre profondément personnelle. Avec Pablo Heras-Casado à la tête de l’OSR et Patricia Kopatchinskaja au violon, ce programme explore le dialogue entre tradition et modernité, où chaque partition revisite les formes du passé avec une ingéniosité.
Inspirée de la musique du XVIIIe siècle, la suite Pulcinella de Stravinski ouvre la voie avec esprit et élégance. Puis, Chostakovitch offre un Concerto pour violon N° 2 d’une grande intensité introspective. Brahms, enfin, dans sa Symphonie N° 4, atteint un sommet du romantisme allemand qui puise son inspiration jusque chez Bach, perceptible notamment dans la passacaille finale du quatrième mouvement.
