Nach einer Erinnerung an die Bedingungen, die zum Exil der Hugenotten geführt haben, einerseits und an die europäischen Rivalitäten bei der Eroberung Amerikas andererseits, die Gründe für die Ansiedlung der hugenottischen Migranten in verschiedenen Aufnahmeländern, Kolonien, die heute zu den Staaten gehören.Vereinigte Staaten von Amerika, werden vorgestellt. Das Schicksal der Familien, die sich entschieden haben zu gehen, wird über mehrere Generationen hinweg betrachtet.
