The Musée d'Art Champenois brings together seductive works of art from the 16th century, when Troyes was the 5th city in the kingdom of France. Stained glass windows, sculptures and paintings invite you to a rich journey in Renaissance art, with its dancing silhouettes, precious clothes and shimmering colours.
The museums of the City of Troyes are exceptionally free on Saturday 13 May from 10am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm and during the Night of Museums from 8pm to midnight. Detailed program: www.musees-troyes.com

The Hotel de Vauluisant presents the collections of Champagne art of the Renaissance, known as the Beau 16th century, as well as the collections of the hosiery. The Beautiful 16th century: Painted panels, statues and stained glass windows illustrate the subtle passage from the aesthetics of the Gothic to its apogee, to that, emerging and more precious of the Renaissance. The painting reflects the Italian and Nordic influences (Assumption of the Virgin, Saint Joseph’s Dream). In sculpture, all the trends of the century are represented: Master of Chaource, Jacques Juliot, Dominique Florentin and François Gentil. The stained glass window shines with its last lights with the works of Linard Gontier (didactic exhibition). La Bonneterie: Evocation of the most emblematic activity of Troyes, European city of knitwear. Ancestral know-how and textile creation.
