Located on the 1st floor by the Palace Rohan, it presents a panorama of the history(story) of the painting(paint) in Europe of Middle Ages in 1870\. Italian and Flemish primitives (Giotto, Memling), Renaissance and Mannerism (Botticelli, Raphael, Véronèse), the Baroque, Classicism and Naturalism in the XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries (together unique(only) of European still lives, Rubens, Van Dyck). Romanticism and Realism (Coburp, Courbet, Chassériau).
