Portrait of an artist of Jewish-Polish origin Thomas Gleb (born in Lódz in 1912 – died in Angers 1991). The movie redraws the life of a man who crossed the big(great) upheavals of the European XXth century, in particular in Poland and in France. He(it) shows how this artist, perpetual exile, knew how to establish(constitute) his own identity and find his place through the art and the meetings. To search for this man was also the journey of director in past and the present to draw the face of certain Europe which, since Japan so much inspired her(it) and was nourishing before coming to settle down in France.
When I shall not be any more there / I shall still be among you
And among those who are not / Still
In the hollows of these stones / In wire of these weavings
In the silences of my paintings(paints)
In openings
