A masterly, complex and universal work, the thirty-two variations for harpsichord composed by Bach around 1740 were transcribed in 1985 for string trio by Russian violinist and composer Dmitry Sitkovetsky (the right hand of the instrument for the violin and viola parts, and the left hand for the cello).
Tonight's trio is a graduate of the prestigious Geneva International String Academy, and comprises Sergey Ostrovsky, Noémie Bialobroda and Auguste Rahon.
