Works by charpentier, Lully, Lambert, Marais, d'Anglebert. While Les Ambassadeurs - La Grande Écurie is preparing one of the absolute masterpieces of music during the reign of Louis XIV - the mythical Atys de Lully - we invite you to slip into the intimacy of the King’s room-Soleil; it is a concert in the small royal apartments to which you are invited, during which you will meet some essential actors of the music in this last quarter of the Great Century: a young gifted disciple of Lully, the violist Marin Marais - the same that the film Tousles matins du monde revealed to the general public; between its sublime trio pieces and its viola pieces, we sing the most beautiful airs of court by Michel Lambert or some scenes from the greatest successes of Lully (including, of course, our Atys) ; finally, we will do justice to the other genius of the time, the one that Lully, by dint of intrigues, has always taken care to keep aside: the great Marc-Antoine Charpentier.
