With a collection of five thousand pieces, the museum presents first and foremost the most beautiful jewels of the faience of Rouen, from the 16th to the 18th century: tiles by Masséot Abaquesne, large dishes in blue camaïeu, rooms adorned with pagodas or the famous «decoration with horn». The 18th century, a true golden age of Rouen earthenware, is rightly honoured with exceptional pieces such as the Celestial and Earthly Spheres by Pierre Chapelle (1725) or the series of busts of the Seasons (1730). Examples of other faience centres (Delft, Nevers, Lille...) allow to situate the Rouen earthenware in the faience production. A hundred pieces in two new rooms dedicated to the shipments of the Manufacture de Sèvres to Rouen in the 19th and 20th centuries: three beautiful sets illustrate the last quarter of the 19th century, the creation around 1900 and the interwar period.
