Come and discover how the ceramics of La Beauté des Banalités are made. Around a demonstration of turning a cup, Marie will take you through the process that transforms a ball of soil into a vase, a bowl or a cup.
We start with the pottery turning. This is the most famous part (and yes, to answer your question: it's the part like in the movie Ghost!). I put the earth on the tower, the center, the bore, go up the walls and the overall shape of the mug appears.
Then it's the turn of the finishing. I fix the part on the lathe thanks to 3 balls of earth. By rotating the piece and using a small metal tool, I will remove long shavings of soil. First, the mug is upside down, I come to dig the bottom of the room. I affix the seal of the mark then I turn the part in the right direction. With the same tool, I will refine and smooth the walls of the mug. Here is the final shape of the mug revealed.

Venez découvrir comment sont fabriqué les céramiques de La Beauté des Banalités. Autour d'une démonstration de tournage d'une tasse, Marie vous amènera tout au long du processus qui transforme une boule de terre en un vase, un bol ou une tasse.
On commance par le tournage. C’est la partie la plus connue (et oui, pour répondre à votre question : c’est la partie comme dans le film Ghost !). Je mets la terre sur le tour, la centre, la perce, monte les parois et la forme globale du mug apparaît.
Puis c'est au tour du tournassage. Je fixe la pièce sur le tour grâce à 3 boules de terre. En faisant tourner la pièce et à l’aide d’un petit outil métallique, je vais retirer de longs copeaux de terre. D’abord, le mug a la tête en bas, je viens creuser le fond de la pièce. J’appose le sceau de la marque puis je retourne la pièce dans le bon sens. Avec le même outil, je vais affiner et lisser les parois du mug. Voilà la forme définitive du mug révélée.
Puis le séchage, les cuissons ...
