On the occasion of the European Days of Heritage and Matrimony, we invite you to discover the history of this site from which nearly 22,500 men, women and children were deported between July 1943 and August 1944, mainly to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Through the testimonies of the deportees, the original railway landscape and the memorial scenography of the place, the tour allows us to approach the history of the deportation while opening a space for reflection on the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and all forms of discrimination.
You will also discover the exhibition Charlotte Salomon. "It’s my whole life", produced by the students of Terminale G3 of the lycée Louise-Michel de Bobigny. Dedicated to the German Jewish artist Charlotte Salomon, deported from Bobigny station in 1943, it offers a sensitive look at her work Life? or Theatre? and its journey.

From the summer of 1943 to the summer of 1944, Bobigny station was the main site of the deportation of Jews from France by Nazi Germany, with the support of the Vichy government. In 13 months, 21 convoys deported 22,500 people interned at the Drancy camp to killing centres. This site is today a major place of French memory of the Second World War.
On several hectares, from the historic entrance to the place of embarkation of the deportees in the yard to the goods, the former deportation station of Bobigny offers a visit path retracing the history of the place during the Second World War, based on testimonies and the railway landscape of the time. It allows to approach the history of the site under the Nazi occupation, the different times of the Deportation and the organization of convoys, the conditions of transport and arrival at Auschwitz, the implementation of the "Final Solution" as well as links to the sites of Le Bourget station and Camp de Drancy.
