The church of Notre-Dame de Givet has been burned down and rebuilt several times. Dated 1612, the choir and the tower are the oldest parts.
From 1730 to 1732, the church underwent profound changes: the old nave became the choir. The initial orientation of the building has been modified: due to lack of space, its expansion could only be done towards Notre-Dame Street, the Meuse being too close.
The organs of the 19th century were built by organ builder Cavaillé-Coll.
The church houses a painting dated 1620 (a crucifixion), listed as historical monument, a Renaissance high altar in marble and very beautiful statues of apostles in gilded wood.
