Am 21. September 2024 öffnen die städtischen Gewächshäuser ihre Türen, um den Bewohnern ein einzigartiges und bereicherndes Erlebnis zu bieten. This event is an exceptional opportunity to discover the architectural and plant heritage of our community, and to understand the importance of its preservation and enhancement.
A Beneficial Commitment for all! The participation of municipal greenhouses in these days highlights the commitment of the Directorate of Plant Heritage of the City of Toulouse in favor of the well-being and awareness of citizens. By opening these spaces usually reserved for the production and conservation of plants, we offer visitors the opportunity to reconnect with nature and understand the challenges of urban biodiversity heritage.
The greenhouses are home to an impressive diversity of plants, including some cultivars, the violet and rose of Toulouse, the captain Bernet and the glycine, classified remarkable tree. ¡Un compromiso beneficioso para todos! La participación de los invernaderos municipales en estas jornadas pone de relieve el compromiso de la Dirección del Patrimonio Vegetal del Ayuntamiento de Toulouse en favor del bienestar y la sensibilización de los ciudadanos. Al abrir estos espacios habitualmente reservados a la producción y conservación de las plantas, ofrecemos a los visitantes la posibilidad de reconectarse con la naturaleza y comprender los retos del patrimonio urbano de la biodiversidad urbana.

The greenhouses appeared at the end of the 18th century, following geographical discoveries. The mastery of the iron and glass industry allows the constant technical improvement of the construction of greenhouses, which developed especially in the second half of the 19th century. The greenhouses of Toulouse were built in two times. In 1877, construction of a rotunda by Pommard, then, in 1893, that of the other greenhouses by Tartux presenting two wings, one perpendicular to the rotunda, and the other ending with two hemicycles. These wings are double exposure. The whole is covered with blinds to shelter the inside of the sun. First built in the Jardin des Plantes, the whole was dismantled and then reassembled at the beginning of the 20th century in the florist garden.
