Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in L'Isle-d'Espagnac: open-air screening of the film «Anne-Marie»
Saint-Exupéry in L'Isle-d'Espagnac?!
Discover the unknown link between our town and Antoine de Saint-Exupéry!
Tuesday, May 29, 2024, 250 people attended the CGR of Angoulême at the projection of «Anne-Marie».
This film, released in 1936 and written by the «pilot-poet» Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, highlights the aerodrome of Bel-Air located in L'Isle-d'Espagnac.
This unique session was organized and presented by Pamela de Montleau, archivist, and Matthieu Poligaré, director of the CGR Angoulême. It is part of the official commemoration of the 80 years of the disappearance of the famous aviator.
The public then discovers, not only that the author of the Little Prince was also a screenwriter, but also that he landed in Bel-Air and slept in the former weather station of L'Isle-d'Espagnac, now a notarial firm.
The meticulous investigation carried out by Pamela de Montleau and Matthieu Poligaré, in collaboration with the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Foundation is underway and will be exhibited during a second screening on September 21 in L'Isle-d'Espagnac.
Do not miss Saturday, September 21, 2024: open-air screening of Raymond Bernard’s film "Anne-Marie" based on an original screenplay by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, as part of the European Heritage Days, on the site where the film’s final scene takes place: the former Bel-Air airfield.
