The Singer-Polignac Foundation exceptionally opens the doors of its mansion to the public. Former home of Winnaretta Singer, Princess of Polignac (1865-1943) - great patron of the arts and sciences - the foundation she herself created sits there since her death. You can discover its music room and ceremonial rooms on the 1st floor and the former workshop of the princess where she painted and played the organ during the day and organized its musical rooms in the evening. Gabriel Fauré, Vincent d'Indy, Nadia Boulanger, Igor Stravinsky, but also Marcel Proust, Jean Cocteau and Colette have regularly walked the corridors of this hotel.
The guided tour will also allow you to discover some rare archives of the princess still preserved. Today, the hotel of the foundation welcomes daily artists from the greatest conservatories and allows them to rehearse in different rooms arranged accordingly since the creation of a musical residence in 2006. You may come across some of these musicians in a corridor. Once a month, the foundation produces concerts reserved for professionals and patrons of the musical and cultural world to allow the artists of its residence to become known. Throughout the year, cultural and scientific days are also organized in collaboration with major universities or research centers. They are all webcast and accessible by invitation.
