Place Bérardier, 29000, Quimper
The church of Locmaria, with its cloister and priory, forms a remarkable heritage complex within the original district of Quimper. The church dates from the 11th century, while the priory is from the 17th century, and the cloister from 1670\. The remains of this cloister extend from the south arm of the transept to the fence wall of the east courtyard and present remains of arcatures. The church is just about all that remains of the abbey founded in the 11th century and which included a monastery of men and one of women. In 1132, she became priory of Saint-Sulpice, of Rennes, and remained so until the end of the Ancien Régime. The convent of men has disappeared since the 14th century.
