Simon de Mailhy dit Simon de Châlons was originally from Champagne. He moved to Avignon in 1533 until his death in 1561. He left an abundant production, often signed and dated. He collaborates with the painter Henri Guigues, he retains from the latter a constant use of the engraved models of Raphael . There is a certain cultural eclecticism in this painter, he is also influenced by Dürer and Lucas de Leyde. The church of Les Baux houses a “Resurrection of Christ” dated 1552.
