The Musée des Amis de Castrum Vetus is a building from the beginning of the 17th century. It was the last residence of the lords of Châteauneuf-les-Martigues. It offers visitors through its 7 exhibition rooms a chronological tour of local archaeology from prehistory to Roman times. It presents a part of the material from the excavations carried out on the site of the prehistoric shelter of the Font-aux-Pigeons proposed to the visit.This eponymous site (Castelnovien), located near the museum was occupied from -7000 to -2500 years.
