Meeting with Prêle Paris, responsible for written heritage – around the Léon Olphe-Galliard collection.
The donation of the scientist Léon Olphe-Galliard, consisting mainly of specimens of naturalized birds, an ornithology library and manuscripts was decisive for the construction of the building housing the Departmental Museum, open to the public since 1910.
Prêle Paris, a heritage officer at the Departmental Archives, invites you to discover some of the works and archival documents of this scholar who made a French contribution to European ornithology in the 19th century.
In the confidential space of the library of the museum which preserves ancient works and contemporary publications, she will present writings and drawings evoking the life of this prolix scholar. Some ornithological specimens that he collected and studied are exhibited in the rooms of the museum go (re)discover them with an informed eye!
