Last year, we inaugurated the CAREX Archaeological Walks and we announced the color: every year, create a new module or improve the existing ones so that this outdoor museum is a living place to visit and re-visit!
Promise kept! This year on the occasion of the European Heritage Days we invite you to discover the new module: Archaeology around the world. A presentation of the archaeological excavations and a trip to meet 5 archaeological sites: Raxruha, Maya city of Guatemala; Kurub Valley, Neolithic sites of Ethiopia; Valle Giumentina, witness of the first settlements of Europe in Italy; Guri Cave, prehistoric site of the Philippines and Prés de Laure, Palaeolithic camp of the Var.
We are waiting for you on Saturday 16 September at 3pm for a guided tour with archaeologists working on some of these sites. Visit will be followed by a surprise workshop…

The sedge is a very young Centre of Experimental Archaeology, located at the foot of the oppidum and the cutting mill, in Bagnols in the Forest. Visitors and school students are invited to participate in the experiments of researchers in order to better understand the scientific method. It is also a meeting place for school students who come each year to learn about a real-fake excavation.
