Free visit subject to supervision of the chapel
In 1589, a novitiate of the Society of Jesus was founded twenty-five years after the establishment of the congregation in Avignon. The construction of the Chapel began in 1601 and its consecration took place ten years later. This building introduces a new aesthetic from Italy in a city dominated by medieval architecture including a dome overlooking the central part of the church.
