Of the castle of La Bouvardière there remain only two buildings: a "manor house" whose construction dates from the fifteenth century and the castle itself built in the seventeenth and reworked in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in a classical spirit tinged with baroque.
It is also there that on June 29, 1944 35 guerrillas were tried, 27 of whom will be shot a few steps away. The members of the Committee of Remembrance of the Maquis of Saffré will complete the presentation of the places by the story of this story, taking you from the room of the trial to the monument to the memory of these young people.
With the kind permission of CRS 42, installed for many years at La Bouvardière, which exceptionally opens its doors for these guided tours.
