Artist House/Old Painted Coffee
If there is one place where art has been shared for a long time, it is the Hôtel de la Boule d'Or in Saint-Jean-sur-Erve. With its dining room decorated with 10 paintings made in 1914 by Charles Denize (itinerant painter who signed Ezined), the inn offered its guests art, lodging and food. The only survivor of the eight hostels with painted blackberries in Mayenne, it was acquired in 1996 by the artist Jill Culiner who turned it into a house-museum. In this setting of another century, because this artist’s house has remained "in its juice", the works of Jill Culiner - satirical and critical work on human behavior - rub shoulders with photos and stories (real or fictional?) of former hotel guests. In preparation: Sunday from 15 hours concert given by La Sainte Famille Machin (Brassens repertoire).
