During your visit, you can enjoy the sound system of the church space, accompanied by water sounds and waterfalls, creating a unique atmosphere in this building magnified by its frescoes. The construction of the church Saint Pierre de Lasalle was carried out with the dark stones of the Cévennes, from the demolition of the temple. Despite its stern appearance, it blends perfectly into the surrounding houses. Originally, a Romanesque chapel was located on the Mouthe hill, but it was destroyed by the Protestants in 1562 in order to build the Colombier temple. While exploring the interior of the church, you will discover a beautiful arch opening onto the choir. Do not forget to admire the refined decoration that embellishes the church.

About the location

Église Saint Pierre de Lasalle
8 rue de l'église, 30460 Lasalle
  • Gard
  • Occitanie
The construction of the church of Saint Pierre de Lasalle took place between June 1686 and 1687\. Its style is naive neo-classical, with its volutes and interlacing, in which one can observe many symbols. The church of Saint Pierre de Lasalle was built with the dark stones of the Cévennes, coming from the demolition of the temple. Its sober appearance allows it to integrate harmoniously with the surrounding houses. Originally, a Romanesque chapel was on the Mouthe hill, but it was destroyed by the Protestants in 1562 to erect the temple of the Colombier. Inside the church, you can admire a magnificent arch that opens onto the choir.
