Throughout the weekend, on the gates of the garden of the museum of the Romanesque house (place de la maison romane), will be presented an exhibition that explores the issue of water heritage in Saint-Gilles.
From the banks of the canal to the objects preserved at Espeyran Castle, this exhibition highlights these vestiges that tell the relationship of men and women with their environment.

In the Gard, the town of Saint-Gilles is located 19 km from Nîmes and 18 km from Arles, between Languedoc and Provence, the Costières de Nîmes and the Camargue.
One of the largest municipalities in the department due to its size and population, Saint-Gilles is a real city where people live and circulate, with shops and a marina on its canal.
Already occupied in Roman times, at the end of the 7th century the hermit Gilles founded a Benedictine church and monastery. In the ninth century, the miracles performed by Saint Gilles made the city an important pilgrimage site on the Santiago de Compostela Way. But the history of the city was tumultuous, it suffered the crusade against the Albigensians, the ravages of the wars of religion and the Revolution.
Today, visitors flock back to it for its remarkable heritage, of which the abbey church is undoubtedly the most interesting site.
