The guided tour of the cloister and powder magazine first presents the cloister of the convent of minimes, built in the early seventeenth century on the rocky promontory overlooking the city and the estuary. The convent was first built for the inhabitants of the upper town of Blaye before being totally included in the citadel. The visit continues with the discovery of the powder magazine of the stronghold of Vauban, place to say the least dangerous but still to be protected from possible attempts of sabotage.
