William Moore is a forester’s son. His father was a technician at the Forestry Commission (NFB) in Great Britain, in charge of training in forestry techniques.
He is the founder of the training center «l'Atelier de l'Arbre».

Remarkable rural building for its exceptional dimensions and its frame that marks the transition between the techniques of assembly of the Middle Ages and those of the Renaissance of the fifteenth and seventeenth centuries. It seems that the first barn (smaller than the current one) belonged to the bishops of Bordeaux, who would have leased it to the seigneur, owner of the castle of Lanquais. Perhaps after a fire, it would have been rebuilt by doubling its dimensions, as they are perceptible today.
The barn has been listed as a Historic Monument since 1942.
