In link with the film cycle dedicated to Swedish filmmaker Victor Sjöström (September 6-October 10), the Pathé Foundation presents an exhibition of photographs of Victor Sjöström's films, from the 1910s through to his talkies. Covering his entire career in Sweden, this exceptional collection comes from the SvenskaFilmInstitutet.
The photographs are a major source on the beginnings of cinema in Sweden, on studio and location shoots, on directing and acting, and on the use of light and scenery.
The exhibition runs from September 6 to 30.

The Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé Foundation, recognized as a public utility in 2006, works to preserve and make available to the public the historical heritage of the Pathé Society. Behind the facade sculpted by Auguste Rodin around 1869, the architect Renzo Piano built a five-storey hull covered with 5000 protective shutters. Raised in the middle of a garden, the contemporary building was inaugurated in September 2014 and now houses the new headquarters of the Foundation.
