Guided tour of the new exhibition of the museum "Désiré-Lucas, journey towards light and color"
This will be the first day of the exhibition "Désiré-Lucas", dedicated to a largely unknown artist. Unique, it is conceived as a journey that takes visitors from Breton portraits and landscapes to the villages of the Midi. The painter Désiré-Lucas understood the lesson of Eugène Carrière, whom he met in 1901. His research focuses on light and colour, with the help of photography. Natural elements such as rain, sky, sea vibrate thanks to an expressive atmospheric rendering. In dialogue with his work represented in 25 paintings, drawings and lithographs, from private collections, are exhibited landscapes of Eugène Carrière, Charles-Paul Séailles, Arminia Babaïan and Ferdinand Olivier. Visitors will be welcomed for a guided tour to discover an artist and his work.
