Enfants du Patrimoine: guided tour of the exhibition «La banlieue des enfants»
Guided tour of the exhibition «La banlieue des enfants»: Les médiatrices de la Maison de Banlieue et de l'Architecture proposes a guided tour of the exhibition «La banlieue des enfants - La place de l'enfant en banlieue, histoire et réflexions». This reflection is based in particular on the observation of places dedicated to children and their evolution. Thus, children’s games often embody the concerns of each era: they are developed in large ensembles to overcome the lack of nature, they are a place of experimentation in the years 1965-1975, then become more uniform and separate due to security issues. Today they are gradually reinvested by the fields of architecture and urbanism and are transformed in the face of ecological issues.
The exhibition highlights several citizen, artistic and experimental projects that give children a voice and promote their autonomy today.
The exhibition tour lasts 45 minutes and is followed by a 15-minute mediation activity. The mediation team of the Maison de Banlieue et de l'Architecture also offers as part of the day «Enfants du Patrimoine» a landscape reading in the park of the town hall of Athis-Mons (10 minutes walk from the Maison de Banlieue and Architecture), from the sensitive orientation table «Dans les yeux de Badine» realized by the artist Edouard Sautai. The landscape reading lasts 45 minutes and can precede or succeed the visit of the exhibition. The Maison de Banlieue et de l'Architecture encourages teachers to book both activities (exhibition visit and landscape reading) for two classes at the same institution in order to share travel expenses. It will be possible to picnic in the park of the town hall of Athis-Mons. The park is large and also allows to organize outdoor games.
The toilets of the Maison de Banlieue and Architecture will be available for classes.
