The bell tower opens to the public only during the European Heritage Days!
Come face the steps of the bell tower and climb to its summit to enjoy an exceptional view of Beaumont and its surroundings seen from the sky!
The bell tower is full of treasures, whether artistic with its set of Renaissance animal sculptures or more intimate with the hundreds of graffiti that testify to five centuries of ascents of the bell tower.

About the location

Église Saint-Laurent de Beaumont-sur-Oise
Place Monseigneur Gosselin 95260 Beaumont-sur-Oise

The church of Saint-Laurent de Beaumont-sur-Oise is a parish church of the 12th and 13th centuries, with a basilical plan with five vessels, modelled on the cathedral of Bourges, but with a flat bedside. The work began under the Counts of Beaumont and remained unfinished in the thirteenth century, which explains why the nave’s ribbed vault dates only from the nineteenth century. The church has Gothic capitals of exceptional quality that bring it closer to Notre-Dame de Paris. The bell tower, built during the sixteenth century, is a high tower crowned by a dome with abundant Renaissance sculpture with a whole vocabulary reminiscent of the castles of Écouen or Fontainebleau. It can be compared to the bell towers of Pontoise, Pont-Sainte-Maxence and Senlis.
