The village of Vigny has always been a strategic place of passage. In Roman times, the Beauvais-Chartres road, the Brunehaut passed through the site that would later become our village. In the 13th century, the Archbishop of Rouen, Eudes de RIGAUD, frequently took the old medieval path of Vernon or Poissy.
Today, the village of Vigny is an important place of passage for hikers of all types. It is crossed by the GR1 and the Paris-London route. It is also integrated into the loops of the Vexin currently in development. Several circuits of the French Hiking Federation cross our town: the M4 (the Aubette valley), the M1 (PR of the French Vexin), Ie M2 (the Brunehaut road) and the M5 (train station circuit). On the other hand, many paths of the village are registered and classified by the General Council thanks to the smooth traffic plan, the PDIPR (Departmental Plan of Routes and Walking and Hiking). And also recently the creation of a heritage trail in our town. Our beautiful village is also the place of passage for pilgrims coming from the Benelux, final direction: Santiago de Compostela.
